I am a member of many Freelance marketplaces. I love to work at Elance and Odesk. I do travel outside my favorite sites to check the opportunities out there. I landed at Freelancer.com to review them. First thing that came to my mind is that it is very easy to use. I could join and bid on projects with ease.
To bring you the stats, Freelancer.com is formerly known as Get a Freelancer.com, a swedish company. GAF as it was known came into existence in the year 2004. In the year 2009, Freelance.com was founded by acquiring GAF. The grapevine goes that, they paid six figure amount to buy this Domain name.
Joining Freelancer.com is a very easy part. You could use your Facebook login to join here. Once you have joined here, create a profile and bid on projects. Every effort is made to make the whole process easier for buyers and providers to join.
They have many more features than other freelance websites. They have a Free market where we could buy and sell e products. They also have a contest section active there. Among the features offered there, sponsored bid is one feature that caught my imagination. He we pay or sponsor our bids to move it in front of other Bids. So if you are serious about a proposal or a bid, you can move it forward by paying more. In the age of Competition, we could help ourselves with some help.
Positives.
It is very easy to join and bid on projects.
They seems to cater to almost all opportunities. Wide variety of job posts for us to choose and bid.
Features like sponsored Bids and highlighted bids allows as to outsmart other bidders.
Fee structure, though complicated, is low compared to other services. If you pay 24.95 you can upgrade yourself as a golden member. Gold members are required to pay only 3% for the projects they were selected. Others pay 10% service charge.
They have some unique features like Free market and contest.
Payments are released using milestone payments which were decided by the buyer and the seller.
Less intrusive. They don’t monitor you the way other websites do. Most projects here are fixed price jobs.
Negatives.
Compared to other Freelance websites, we are seeing lots of Scam job posts.
Their customer care is not up to the world standard. Their replies take too much time.
Job rates compared to other sites is very low. People expects us to work for less.
Even though there are some negatives, we found this is a perfect place for the beginners. There are no payment related complaints that we receive. For payment they follow milestone payment system where as, your payment is released once you complete a mile stone.
Report.
Compared to Elance and Odesk, Freelancer.com does have some catching to do. But this is a place tailor made for beginners.
we give *******8/10 for Freelancer.com
